Weekend Wear: Black and Brown

July 1, 2010
Sheer Dress – Ann Demeulemeester
Shapewear Underneath – Victoria’s Secret
Belt – J.Crew
Bracelet – Urban Outfitters Belt
Shoes – Zara

This dress (also worn here under a skirt) is so simple with a single seam down the front and down the back as its only detail.  I know it will last in my closet for a long, long time.

And, yes – I’m heading to Hawaii today!!!  You can probably guess my weekend plans:  it involves the lovely beach, bright sun (and the essential SPF protection that goes along with it), warm water, good food and the amazing company of Michele and Ana!  But I’ll surely miss my hubby and two puppies, too.  =)  What are your weekend plans?

  • This is one of my favorite looks! And to think the thought of brown and black together would have sent me into fits two years ago. 🙂 Have fun in Hawaii!

  • I love this dress! The simplicity of it is great to show off your absolutely beautiful face. When you smile, all of you lights up.

You look beautiful here…great smile! Btw, my friend and I searched hi and lo for this vintage store you spoke of. We went to places called Second Time Around and Poor Little Rich Girl, and both were duds! Where is this lovely little place you speak of with great vintage jewelry and vintage designer blouses?

  • Thanks ladies!!!

Petite – Sorry!! I was meaning to get back to you on yesterday’s post! It was on one of the streets perpendicular to and between Newbury and Boylston. Walking on Newbury towards the Boston Garden, you’d see it in front of you on the right hand side, but there isn’t really a sign, just window displays with vintage stuff. I think it’s very close to the section of Boylston where the library is…. Ahh. I hope that helps… !!!

My weekend plans are nowhere near as exciting as yours, have tons of fun in Hawaii. I look forward to seeing some pics when you get back!!
Black and tan are one of my favorite color combinations. This outfit looks great, especially with the simplicity of the sheer dress and the fun tying of your belt.

  • I’m so glad that I found your blog! Thank you for sharing your current yet career minded style. I truly want these Zara shoes – love them.
