Chestnut

Good morning and happy Monday! On the subject of flats vs heels, I have 3 “tricks”:
- I was a figure skater for 8 years, training in the early mornings before school and in the evenings after school. Skating boots are not forgiving things – hard leather, a 1.5″ heel, and blisters were a way of life every time we were breaking in a new pair (annually, at least). My feet can tolerate a whole lot now (possible that some nerve endings don’t exist any longer?! haha), so in truth, high heels are no big deal for me. For that “trick,” I’m sorry that it may not apply!
- When faced with options in leather (suede, patent or smooth leather), I always, always choose suede. It is the softer, more supple option and will more easily stretch to the shape of your foot. In my experience, patent leather is the most challenging, but there are cases where patent cannot be avoided (and I happily throw caution to the wind).
- I match each pair of heels with a pair of flats (one pair of flats sub in for for several pairs of heels) – so anytime I want to wear my chestnut colored heels but need to change out to run around more freely, I know exactly which pair of flats to reach for, and that the pair will work seamlessly with my outfit. These flats have been amazing in that way – it can take the place of my dark brown heels, my black pumps, my nude pumps…. pretty much anything! So this pair is easily my current favorite and well worth the investment! Now I’m on the hunt for an equally versatile flat to take the place of my white pumps…
Do you have any tips and tricks for wearing heels? Please share below! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Such beautiful flats!
chevrons & éclairs
Amazing tips, I definitely need them as I’m horrible in heels (I think insecurity is the biggest challenge because I still feel like a little girl putting on my mom’s heels and I think I look ridiculous). And having weird feet doesn’t help, I can’t wear leather because it makes my feet sweat too much and it never gives in so it’s always stiff and hurts me, my right foot tilts to the left a tiny bit and I basically have no balance (I can’t walk two steps in a straight line without losing balance).
That’s a gorgeous outfit, I love the coat and since the weather is getting cold again over here I think I might need to get my coats out again.

I almost always choose suede as well! And wow! I bet your feet went through a lot growing up! I have no tips and tricks. I just splurge on the most comfortable haha.

Love the idea of having a matching pair of flats for each pair of heels!
