It’s truly been a San Francisco summer (or the anti-summer, in this case). I’m looking forward to some warmer days ahead; we’ll be spending a weekend in San Diego with family soon!

I recently teamed up with RoC Skincare to learn more about Retinol and to try out their Retinol Correxion line. I’ll be honest: I’d never tried Retinol before. And I’ll go even further: I didn’t know what Retinol was for.

So here are my recent learnings in a nutshell:

  • Retinol is the #1 dermatologist recommended cosmetic age-fighting ingredient.
  • It’s a derivative of Vitamin A and it works to unclog pores, boost collagen and reduce fine lines. It also helps speed cell turnover to even out discolorations and smooth the skin.
  • RoC scientists in France were the first to develop the methods needed to stabilize and package retinol.

The timing is great – I’m looking forward to lots of sunshine in San Diego and I won’t be going without my new drugstore(!) find: RoC Skincare Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer SPF 30. It contains exclusive combinations of pure retinol with the added benefit of sunscreen for day. I’ve also been trying out their Retinol Correxion Eye Cream at night, which is hypoallergenic, non-greasy and helps to reduce wrinkles around the eye, crow’s feet and dark circles. Which, now that I’m in my 30s, I’ve been noticing more and more.

Would love to hear your thoughts: have you tried using Retinol?
