We spent our first day exploring most of Southern Higashiyama, including Kiyomizu temple (those steps!), Chion-in Temple (with the largest temple bell in Japan), and wandered around the beautiful little streets around Gion before stumbling on Shinbashi street (beautiful!) and Maruyama garden. It was a long, wonderful day of walking and I was glad to have my latest travel companion: this convertible backpack by Henri Bendel.

Henri Bendel has a special place in my heart: I traveled to New York with college friends while we were still in school and fell in love with the store (my friends can attest!). It was the first store I wanted to return to on my subsequent visit near the end of college and I definitely made sure it happened.

This backpack looks equally stylish on my shoulder (the straps convert to a longer single shoulder strap) and in my hands as a tote. I also traveled with their train case in my carry on – best way to keep all my cosmetics, creams and necessities for staying fresh on the flight.

Can’t wait to share more from my trip – thank you so much for stopping by!
